You've grafted for years and built real trade know-how, the Trade to Trainer Programme helps you turn that into solid teaching skills. Built for tradespeople, by tradespeople. No academic waffle, just practical steps.

What you'll learn

• What it really means to be a trainer, and how to run a safe, supportive learning environment.
• How to plan lessons that work for different learners and keep a group engaged.
• How assessment fits in, and how to make it fair.
• Short micro-teaching sessions where you practise delivering training and get feedback.

Who it's for

• Tradespeople who want to pass on their skills, or already show others the ropes at work.
• Anyone looking to open up new opportunities in teaching, training, or mentoring.

How it runs

• Around 45-50  hours of taught sessions spread over the course, plus a bit of self-study.
• Evenings 17:30 - 21:00 over 12 weeks

Qualification details

• Qualification: Highfield Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF) — QAN 601/1636/5
• Credit value: 12 credits · 48 guided learning hours · 120 total qualification time
• Assessment: Portfolio of evidence, including at least one hour of microteaching
• Entry requirement: Minimum age 19, no other formal prerequisites
• Regulation: Ofqual, Qualifications Wales and CCEA Regulation · delivery available across England, Wales and Northern Ireland
