Andy's Man Club

Andy's Man Club is a UK men's suicide prevention charity offering free, peer-led talking groups. It was founded in 2016 by Elaine Roberts (Andy's mother) and Luke Ambler (Andy's brother-in-law), in memory of Andrew Roberts, who took his own life aged 23. The charity's message is simple: it's okay to talk.

What they do

Andy's Man Club runs free, peer-support talking groups for men aged 18 and over. Every Monday at 7pm (excluding bank holidays), groups meet across the UK and online. No booking needed — just turn up.

Why it's on this page

Construction and the trades have one of the highest rates of male suicide of any sector in the UK. We include Andy's Man Club here because it's one of the most accessible mental health resources available to working men — no GP referral, no waiting list, no paperwork.

How to find a group

There are now hundreds of in-person groups across the UK — from the South-West of England, through Wales and up to the North of Scotland — plus online groups for anyone who can't make it in person. The Andy's Man Club website has a postcode search to find your nearest group.

If you're struggling right now

If you're in immediate crisis, please call Samaritans on 116 123 (free, 24/7) or text SHOUT to 85258. If you can wait until Monday, an Andy's Man Club group near you is a brilliant place to start.

ProTech's perspective

We see this as part of what running a trade business means — looking after the people in it. If you, or someone you work with, is struggling, you don't need to figure it out alone.
